Thanks for visiting my website. Let me tell you a little about myself and why I’m here…
I’m a pianist working on the south coast of England, mostly in Dorset, Hampshire, and West Sussex. I enjoy accompanying other musicians and perform frequently with local singers and instrumentalists. Working with other musicians is at the heart of why I love music, so I’m always keen to hear from other musicians who are interested in collaborating for recordings, concerts or other projects. I have experience of playing in piano trios/quartets and I’m looking for a cellist to work with for future trio projects with a local violinist - get in touch if that’s you!
English music is a particular love of mine and I’m always exploring new repertoire to take to the concert platform - particularly music by English composers who may not be as well-known as the likes of Elgar, Britten or Vaughan Williams, to name a few. Recent concert projects have included the popular A Shropshire Lad by George Butterworth alongside some less familiar songs for voice and violin by Gustav Holst. There’s a plentiful supply of beautiful English song just asking to be performed, so if this is of interest to you, and you think you might be interested in working with me, do get in touch.
I’ve composed various sacred pieces during my time working with a local church choir. I’ve also written some solo piano music and some secular choral works which have been performed by a local amateur choir. I’m more than happy to receive requests for compositions, but these days, mostly for small-scale works/arrangements.
I studied piano with Angela Zanders and singing with Susan Legg. I was awarded the degree of BMus with 1st class honours in music performance, culminating with a recital filled with music by English composers, including the popular Eclogue for piano and strings by Gerald Finzi.
